HOW TO REACH THE VENUE

1) By Plane:
The closest international airport is the airport Kosice, located at about 100km south-east of Tatranská Lomnica. The airport is accessible from three major destinations: Vienna (Austria, operated by Tyrolean Airways), Prague (Czech Republic, Czech Airlines) and Bratislava (Slovak Republic, Slovak Airlines). Here you can find a detailed timetable for all the three routes. Another close international airport is the Balice Airport in Cracow, Poland, some 120 km north-west of the venue. In case that the great majority of participants coming by plane will opt for these airports, and arrive on the same day, we shall arrange a conference shuttle/bus to bring them directly to their hotels.

2) By Train:
Going by train, you can get directly to Tatranská Lomnica. There are many connections from Vienna (via Bratislava and Poprad), Budapest (via Kosice and Poprad), Prague (via Zilina and Poprad) and Warsaw (via Zilina and Poprad or Kosice and Poprad). To find the most convenient route, please click here.

WEATHER

The third decade of May is usually characterized by low probability of rainfall and the average temperature ranging from 7 to 15 degrees of Celsius. It is, however, not uncommon that the temperature at night may drop well below zero.

PASSPORT & VISA

To visit Slovak Republic, you must have a valid, unexpired passport. Visa regulations vary quite a lot. U.S. citizens may enter without a visa for stays up to 30 days, while citizens of Australia, Canada and a great majority of EU countries may stay without a visa up to 90 days. A visa is required for citizens of countries which do not have visa-exempt agreements with Slovak Republic. Complete information for all country visa requirements can be found at the web page of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Slovak Republic (currently available in Slovak language only).
