-Subwindow size and position is recorded in the header

-Read-out overhead stringly depends on the direction

 vertical stripes: 1000,0,200,3056    14 sec per frame

 horizontal stripes: 0,1000,3056,200   3.16 sec per frame

-binning further reduces the times

 horizontal stripe 0,500,1528,200    2.80 sec per frame

-The (vertical width) of the stripe matters, not the number of pixels

 square: 1000,1000,200,200    2.9 sec per frame

==> reduction possible using the header keywords and full calibration frames
==> limited astromeric matching
