Surface differential rotation on late-type singles and binaries with Doppler imaging


ABSTRAKT / ABSTRACT :

Stellar dynamos in late type stars generate strong magnetic fields, which manifest
in observable signatures, such as starspots or flares. Differential rotation has
a crucial role in the generation of the large scale toroidal fields, hence
understanding it is of utmost importance in the study of magnetic activity and
stellar dynamos. In this talk, I aim to give a short overview of the current state
of the art, based on results by our group (and others) from the last two decades.
