PREDNASAJUCI / LECTURER : Silvia Ďurišová NAZOV / TITLE : Interstellar meteors – search for possible causes of errors in the processing of raw data ABSTRAKT / ABSTRACT : It is not unusual to find hyperbolic orbits in meteor databases. However, the challenge begins once the attempt is made to identify interstellar meteors with true hyperbolic orbits. Generally, the presence of interstellar meteors is not possible to prove or disprove because of the lack of quality data and realistic errors. In many cases, the errors are underestimated or the available databases do not contain them at all. In the hopes to identify and investigate the possible causes of errors and get a realistic look at the error estimation, we will first look at the processing of raw data acquired during the DIMS (Dark matter and Interstellar Meteoroid Study) project, one of the aims of which is to search for interstellar meteors.
