PREDNASAJUCI / LECTURER : Anhelina Voitko NAZOV / TITLE : Variations of cometary dust color using the archive of the Skalnaté Pleso observatory ABSTRAKT / ABSTRACT : Our work is aimed at studying the microphysical properties of cometary dust particles. To fulfill our task, we consider the photometric color of distant comets, as it is dependent on dust particle chemical composition and size distributions. Therefore, we are looking for dust color variations of distant comets, which can be explained by some variations of dust particle properties, their fragmentation, sublimation, etc. As a primary data source for our research, we use the archive of the Skalnaté Pleso observatory. We have systematized archive data in a database, including information about the number, duration, and quality of expositions, used instruments, and calibration availability. We selected dense observations of comets at heliocentric distances larger than 3 au with a maximum pause of fewer than 3 days. Among 8 comets, 4 of them did not possess strong color variations. We analyze these results and use the agglomerated debris particle model for the interpretation of color dust variation in comas of selected comets.
