                         Postdoctoral Position
                     at the Astronomical Institute
               of the Academy of Sciences of the Czech Republic


The Astronomical Institute of the Academy of Sciences of the Czech
Republic opens one temporary position in the field of stellar
spectroscopy and photometry to work on a project "Circumstellar
envelopes of hot stars". The applicant is expected to have experience in
the field of the proposed project and to be holding a PhD at the time
of arrival.

The Astronomical Institute of the Academy of Sciences of the Czech
Republic is the largest professional astronomical institute in the Czech
Republic. It is located partly in Ondrejov and Prague. The general
scientific profile of the Institute research is characterized by its
four research departments: Solar Physics, Stellar Physics,
Interplanetary Matter, Galaxies and Planetary Systems (located in
Prague). The institute has a large library, computing facilities
and its own observing facilities. General information about the

The salary will be based on the standard domestic scale. The starting
date is as soon as possible and the appointment is initially for 1 year.
Further extension will be possible upon satisfactory scientific results,
publication output, and availability of funding.
