                        Postdoctoral Position
                    at the Astronomical Institute
              of the Academy of Sciences of the Czech Republic


The Astronomical Institute of the Academy of Sciences of the Czech
Republic opens one temporary position in the field of stellar
spectroscopy and photometry for a work on a project "Physics of hot
stars and stellar systems with hot components". The applications are
expected from a qualified person holding a PhD degree at the time of
arrival.

The Astronomical Institute of the Academy of Sciences of the Czech
Republic is the biggest professional astronomical institute in the Czech
Republic. It is located partly in Ondrejov and Prague. The general
scientific profile of the Institute research is characterized by its
four research departments: Solar Physics, Stellar Physics,
Interplanetary Matter, Dynamical Astronomy (located in Prague). The
institute has a large library, computing instrumentation and
its own observing facilities. General information about the institute

salary will be based on the regular domestic scale. The job is to start
as soon as possible for one year. Further extension is possible upon
satisfactory scientific results and availability of funding.
