PREDNASAJUCI / LECTURER : Werner Potzi NAZOV / TITLE : The Observatory Kanzelhoehe ABSTRAKT / ABSTRACT : The Observatory Kanzelhoehe was founded by the Germans during the 2nd World War for observing the Sun in order to be prepared for radio disturbances triggered by solar eruptions. Nowadays at the observatory not only the Sun itself is observed, but also the weather and solar radiation. The Sun is observed in three wavelengths at high resolution and high cadence: H-Alpha, CaIIK, and Whitelight. All the data is processed locally and send to various data storages. We are in charge of the weather station of the Austrian national weather service agency and we also test new weather sensors for them. The radiation measurements cover global radiation, direct solar radiation, UV-A, UV-B and photosynthetic active radiation. The observatory is also one of worldwide AERONET stations for measuring atmospheric aerosols.
