PREDNASAJUCI / LECTURER : Kenneth Phillips NAZOV / TITLE : SECIS: a short history and future prospects ABSTRAKT / ABSTRACT : The SECIS (Solar Eclipse Coronal Imaging System) was conceived in 1997 as a CCD camera instrument that would search for tiny oscillations in the green-line coronal brightness. Some 12 years on, we have acquired lots of data for particularly the 1999 and 2001 eclipses. There is no clear example of any oscillations. But this is compatible with results from the CoMP instrument that has recently found evidence of coronal waves in velocity space, not in intensity. This could indicate the direction in which we should be working for future plans. I'll describe our results obtained already and will talk about future prospects for a new instrument to replace SECIS.
