Driving a Ferrari... This is a feeling I have working with my new PC computer. After a long time (decades) while working all the time with quite old computers it was change now completely. In my office I have at my disposal quite powerful PC at least for demands I have.
It is Intel P4 2.6GHz, RAM 512MB, IDE HDD 80GB, with 3.5'' floppy, CDROM drive, optical mouse, 19'' monitor (1200x1000points 85 Hz, TrueColors, 64MB RAM) where Linux RH 9.0 with the KDE environment and OpenOffice, Mozilla, Emacs 21.2 are used. It is used mostly as a terminal for few servers of our institute and editing all types of files I need (ASCII, latex/tex, IDL, Fortran, HTML).
As you see it is not in fact a Ferrari but my feeling is that it is really is. So let's drive !
