Dear all, in this e-mail : 1. New pages "Submit an instrument" and "List of instruments" available on our website 2. Presentations of the Zurich workshop are online ******************************************************************************************************************************* 1. When we started this COST Action, the goal was to create a network and promote polarimetry as much as we can. But we also promised to provide some "deliverables" and one of them was to provide a detailed list of past, existing and possibly future instruments allowing to carry out (spectro-)polarimetric measurements. The need for such a list was again emphasized during the discussions in our latest calibration workshop in Zurich. We have now a tool to achieve this goal, a page where you can submit an instrument : http://www.polarisation.eu/index.php/submit-a-new-instrument You need to be a registered member to access this page. We tried to be as complete as possible, so obivously some of the fields won't be applicable to a specific instrument. Just leave them empty. Only the fields with a red cross are mandatory. Some of the fields have a short explanation if you move your mouse over the green logo. If something is unclear, please write some details in the "remarks" field. We have two examples of instruments already listed (although some fields may be amended) : http://www.polarisation.eu/index.php/list-of-instruments This list of instruments will of course be open to everyone as this is a service we intend to provide to the community. If later on, you want to update your submission, it won't be directly possible as the administrative part of the website is not accessible from outside my institute. Instead I have started a topic in our forum (only accessible to registered members as well) where you can post the information you want to amend for a specific instrument. We will then take care of updating the instrument information. http://www.polarisation.eu/index.php/forum/wg3-instrumentation/6-submit-a-new-instrument--update The tool is there and can be improved with your feedback. Please consider submitting your instrument (if you are PI) or an instrument that you have used many times and you know very well. The goal is to try to have a list as exhaustive as possible and of course to keep it dynamic when modifications are made or new instruments become available. ****************************************************************************************************************************** 2. In January, we had our "calibration workshop" in Zurich, organized by Hans Martin Schmid. Now, the scientifc summary of the meeting, all presentations as well as a wrap-up of the questionnaires sent to Hans Martin before the meeting are available at http://www.polarisation.eu/index.php/meetings/previous-meetings/10-meetings/70-program-zurich Best wishes, Hervé -- Dr. Hervé Lamy Chairman of the COST Action MP1104 BRAMS team leader Senior Scientist Space Physics group Belgian Institute for Space Aeronomy Avenue Circulaire 3, 1180 Brussels Phone number: +32 (0)2 3730418 Fax number : +32 (0)2 3748423 e-mail : herve.lamy@aeronomie.be
