I was born in Brezno, the Slovak Republic (at that time part of the
former Czechoslovakia), in 1965.
After having finished the study at the Comenius University in Bratislava ( Faculty of Mathematics and Physics)
I have been working at the Astronomical Institute of the Slovak Academy of Sciences in Tatranska Lomnica.
My research interests are chemically peculiar stars, interacting binaries, and most recently mainly
exoplanets, brown dwarfs, and protoplanetary disks.
1999-2000, ULO and University College London
NLTE abundance analysis and NLTE radiative accelerations in the atmospheres of hot stars (host: Mike Dworetsky).
2003-2006, Penn State University
synthetic spectra and Doppler tomography of interacting binaries (host: Mercedes Richards).
2006-2007, University of Arizona
extrasolar planets and brown dwarfs (host: Adam Burrows, Ivan Hubeny).
2013-2014, Australian National University
dust and protoplanetary disks (host: Raquel Salmeron).
Apart from astronomy, mountains and any outdoor activity used to be
my major hobby.
I have a lovely daughter Barborka, son Kubko and wife Anicka.
