Modification of the Shower Database of the Meteor Data Center

ABSTRAKT / ABSTRACT : 

I would like to inform you about the ongoing work on the Shower Database (SD) of the Meteor Data Center (MDC), 
the care of which I took over, together with Regina Rudawska, last summer. 
The SD is widely used by the international community of meteor astronomers. 
To keep the literature on showers transparent, the MDC assigns a unique name, 
number and three-letter code to each newly reported meteor shower. 
A significant increase in the number of discovered meteoroid streams 
has triggered the need to improve the operation of the SD. Our aims are: 
to verify and enhance the content of the SD; to improve the user's area of the MDC SD; 
to simplify the meteor shower nomenclature rules; and, in coordination with the Working 
Group on Meteor Shower Nomenclature of the IAU Commission F1, to establish objective 
criteria that are strictly necessary for moving showers to the Lists of Established and Removed Showers.
