Abstract:
We present new experimental results on the formation of polyynes and
cyanopolyynes by 1 keV electron irradiation of CH4 ,C2H4 and C2H6 and its
mixtures with N2 and H2O under conditions that mimic the physical
conditions on the grains in the dense molecular clouds in the interstellar
medium (ISM) and the surfaces of small bodies and icy satellites in the
outer Solar System.
