Author: Dr. Teimuraz Zaqarashvili Institute fur Physik, Geophysik Astrophysik und Meteorologie University of Graz, Austria Title: Instability of magnetized jets in the solar atmosphere Abstract: Observations show various kinds of jets and flows with different plasma parameters (temperatures, density, speed) such as spicules, X-ray jets, EUV jets, chromospheric anemone jets, tornadoes, etc. These jets can be unstable to Kelvin Hemholtz instabilties due to velocity jumps at surface, which may lead to heating/turbulence and hence is important for shaping the chromospheric and coronal plasma. I will discuss the latest results of theoretical and observational studies about the problem and their possible connection to heating.
