| Abstract: | Increasingly the analysis of solar data requires the use of
data from a variety of sources. In order to facilitate this the products
supplied by databases and archives need to be of sufficient quality that
they can be used in a consistent way in the sophisticated tools that are
becoming available. While this is gradually occurring we discuss how a few
small changes can speed the process. We describe how virtual observatories
are highlighting the need for improved interoperability by describing the
work being done in implementing the Heliophysics Integrated Observatory
(HELIO) and related VOs. We also discuss how a new FP7 coordination
action, CASSIS, is intended to stimulate the development of standards that
will allow the integration of capabilities in all aspect of science in the
Solar System. |
