Comment: Realtime DOT images show some brightenings in Ha and Ca. What's very interesting is that some of seem to be within the penumbra and even umbra (this is even very unusual for "normal" flares, only the strongest occur within a spot. Strong fields -> high energy of reconnection process: propto B^2). Again it will be very interesting to check whether maybe CDS was located on one of the brightenings. ------------------------------------------------------------------------------ 6-Jul-06: --------- target: Xcen = 480", Ycen = -150", i.e. AR 10898 DOT: Due to bad seeing conditions no observations could be made. RHESSI: 07:50-08:50 UT, 09:30-10:30 UT (only observation times coincident within DOT time are listed) COMMENT: RHESSI observed several microflares during period listed above. DOT Ha and Ca movies show several brightenings. RHESSI observed also microflares at later times (after DOT). It will be very interesting to see whether maybe CDS was located on one of the brightenings (which would be great). Fortunately RHESSI observed during the same period as DOT and observed several microflares. For the 3 largest ones, I was able to reconstruct the RHESSI sources and they seem indeed to be within the DOT FOV. The DOT H-alpha and Ca image series show several brightenings roughly coincident in time with the RHESSI enhancements. So, it seems we were lucky.
